The design project of the central building of Saderat bank of Shiraz, was presented in a limited competition.
In the final form of the project, due to the area of land and the buildable surface, first thing we were faced with a huge mass of the building, so the design of the project was done in two steps; Locating user spaces, and providing light, air and vision circulation.
In the first step, according to the request of the employer, the building had to be divided into two parts: management and services. In the service part, movement circulation for client, employee and document access, was the main theme of the design.
The density in the ground floor, which was one hundred percent of density, allowed us to consider an optimal division for the accesses related to each user and to do all the movement pumping from the ground floor. The back wall of the ground floor, which faces the street, was used for parking.
In the second step, to provide light and air circulation, we divided the building into two parts and with an empty space, between the project, it was possible to create light and open spaces for the middle part of the building. At this stage of the design, this empty volume in the middle of the building formed the final form of the project. As you notice, this empty volume moved both in vertical and horizontal structure of the project and formed a vertical and horizontal void, and finally the final shell of the facade was designed according to the amount of light required in each section.
